Best Western Opens Hotel in Sapporo

Best Western has opened its second property in Sapporo, the Best Western Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen.

The 278-room Best Western Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen is located on the south side of Sapporo city centre by Nakajima Park. The central business district and Susukino night-life entertainment area are within walking distance.

Sapporo is the capital and gateway city to the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido, which attracts tourists from around Japan and the world with its magnificent natural beauty and world famous ski resorts.

“The opening of Best Western Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen is another important step forward for Best Western, as we continually move ahead to achieving our goal of 50 hotels by 2015. Already well on track, we aim to add 10 new hotels to the Best Western portfolio each year in Japan,” said Best Western International’s Vice President for Operations Asia and the Middle East, Glenn de Souza.

The hotel’s guestrooms feature cable and satellite TV, refrigerator, coffee/tea set, hairdryer, dataport and high speed internet access while facilities include a restaurant and a 24-hour convenience store. In addition to Sapporo’s various attractions, the Jozankei hot springs area is within 30 km of the hotel, while three ski resorts can also be easily reached.

“Japan is a strategic destination for Best Western International and this is reflected in our ever growing portfolio. It is a unique multi-faceted destination offering history, culture, stunning natural beauty and at the same time, is one of the world’s most hi-tech societies” added Mr. De Souza.

Best Western Hotel Sapporo Nakajima Koen is the chain’s 13th property in Japan.
